Talks and Presentations

Vancouver Sound Designers Meetup—Dec 2015

I was asked to head up and deliver this talk midway through development for PvZ: Heroes, realizing I had a lot to share about my learnings on the process.

GameSoundCon 2016

From Seed to Superhero: A Plants vs. Zombies: Heroes Post-Mortem

I co-presented this with my audio director / composer at Game Sound Con 2016 in Los Angeles, CA, exploring our production process, how we found our aesthetic, some hard and fast techniques, the systems we created, and lots of other Dos and Don’ts discovered along the way. Feel free to email me if you’re interested in slides!

GDC 2017 / Healthy Culture, Healthy Team

Read your post about VFS on Sound Design and followed the link to your blog.
Just wanted to say that your blog is tremendous and rich with detail. In the 20 minutes of perusing through some posts, I picked up so much useful, relevant information.

Please, keep up the good work.

Hey gk, happy to help. I’ll be posting up here lots in the coming weeks (graduating shortly) with some closing thoughts on the program and an embed of my final project, so you can see how the whole thing ended up turning out for me. Best of luck!

checked in your latest stuff – looks really good. And you got to work with Kyma!
I’m a freelancer here in nyc, i do audio post on docs and some commercial work as well.
I know you must be busy applying for internships or jobs now that you’re graduating but I was wondering how you would rate VFS in terms of helping you land jobs and internships.

Hey Martin! Sorry for the delayed response, I’ve been pretty busy over the last year or so and haven’t had much personal work to show. Thanks so much for the kind words, I’m honored that my writing or work’s inspiring you forwards. Lots of new content to come to the site over the next few months, so stay tuned!
